Dentist

I took the boys to their new dentist today - only a month overdue (not bad, we did move and all).

Anyway, it was their first time at a real pediatric dentist, and it's safe to say they LOVED it. No joke, THEY HAD TVS IN THE CEILING! Both boys got to see the areas they (me/Husband) need to brush better and both cooperated and got their teeth cleaned.

The dentist said we may have to make some decisions about Bean's teeth as early as our next appointment (six months) - maybe pull some teeth and file some so all his front ones come in nicely (therefore pushing the crowding and crookedness into the back). She seemed pretty sure that his small-mouth-big-teeth issue could be managed with just that.

Now, Moose, oy, we are in for lots of work there. She said it was still too early to really tell but - worse case - he'd need surgery to accommodate his bottom teeth and correct his overbite (which is DARLING now, but probably won't always be). I told them to send the bill to my father-in-law, because it's his bottom jaw :) See my mouth? BIG MOUTH, BIG TEETH. That's not my side of the family.

Both boys had ZERO cavities, so despite the poor brushing along the gum line, we're in pretty good shape.

For how chaotic is was (VERY busy, even at 8 a.m. - and lots of toys and prizes and noise) in there, everyone was super-friendly and pretty darn efficient. The boys left with a prize a piece, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, brushing charts, and balloons.

We wanted to let Husband sleep in this morning (because, honestly, he's been letting me sleep in a lot over this break), so we headed to base where Moose got a haircut (only $7.95 - totally worth the trip out there). It's the same cut, just trimmed up (seriously, she took off probably 3.5 inches, and it's still plenty long and adorable). Bean skipped the haircut. His cowlick is ridiculous, and I am determined to let it grow out like Moose's, so it'll be disguised again ... so we keep waiting (slowest growing hair ever on that one).
